Dorchester is Dorset's county town dating back to the iron age, and is also the town of Casterbridge which featured in several of Thomas Hardy's novels.
Dorchester was also the departure point for the six men known as the Tolpuddle Martyrs who, in 1834 were deported to Australia and later pardoned.
Today, a traditional market is held here every Wednesday with over 500 stalls selling a wide range of products. Where was this picture taken? Click for a Google Map |
