These cliffs, consisting of Blue Lias rock dating back some 200 million years to the Jurassic period, were the site of Mary Anning's ichthyosaur find in 1811, and regularly yield important fossil finds today. This panorama was taken before the massive landslip on 6th May 2008, when tonnes of rock and boulders came crashing down over a 400 metre stretch of cliff.
The 2008 Landslip on the menu below, shows the scene two days after the fall.
